On the morning of December 13, 2024, I had the privilege of attending the “It’s More Than Just Money Breakfast”, hosted by the inspiring entrepreneur and author, Witnes Mdaka. This wasn’t just another event—it was a gathering of like-minded individuals, each driven by purpose, vision, and a shared commitment to using wealth as a tool for impact.

Being invited as an esteemed guest was a humbling experience. The moment I walked into the venue, I could feel the buzz of excitement and anticipation in the air. Entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and changemakers from diverse industries were present, all eager to exchange ideas and gain fresh perspectives.

The theme, “It’s More Than Just Money,” resonated deeply with me, as it aligns closely with my personal philosophy and the work I’ve done with initiatives like the Z2B Stokvel, Z2B Aquaponics, and Z2B Eyethu Meat Wholesalers. For me, business has always been about more than just profit—it’s about sustainability, community impact, and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

Witness Mdaka’s keynote was nothing short of transformative. He spoke about redefining our relationship with money, not as an end goal, but as a means to enrich lives and empower communities. His words reinforced what I’ve often shared through my own journey: true wealth lies in building systems and legacies that outlive us.

During the panel discussions, I had the opportunity to engage with some incredible individuals, exchanging insights about topics like ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, sustainable business practices, and leveraging collective wealth for community development. It was invigorating to see how many of us are driven by similar values, using different approaches to achieve shared goals.

The event also served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration. Hearing the success stories and challenges of others reinforced my belief in the power of collective effort—whether it’s through stokvels, partnerships, or community-driven enterprises.

As the morning progressed, I found myself not only inspired but also reflecting on my own journey. Events like this remind us why we started and reignite the passion to keep pushing forward, despite the hurdles.

Before leaving, I had the chance to network with some extraordinary people who are doing phenomenal work in their fields. These connections are invaluable, as they remind us that we’re not alone in our mission to create change.

I’m incredibly grateful to Witness Mdaka and his team for organizing such a meaningful event. The “It’s More Than Just Money Breakfast” wasn’t just a gathering; it was a movement—one that challenged us to think differently about wealth, success, and the legacies we are building.

As I continue my own journey, I carry with me the lessons and inspiration from that morning. It’s more than just money—it’s about purpose, impact, and the lives we touch along the way.
