COMMUNITY BUSINESSES
Z2B Food & Beverage Founded in 2023 by entrepreneur Banele Rewo, Z2B Food & Beverage is a Johannesburg-based, community-funded agribusiness that combines meat wholesaling, urban aquaponics farming, and on-site processing. Born from a stokvel model, it empowers ordinary investors by pooling resources to build a vertically integrated food business—spanning catfish aquaponics in Protea Glen, meat processing in Kya Sands, and online retail with local delivery. In under two years, Z2B has evolved into a dynamic force serving informal traders, caterers, restaurants, and households, while championing transparency, sustainability, and community-driven growth
SQUAD Footwear and Apparel is a youth-owned, community-funded fashion brand built through a stokvel savings model. Founded by a group of young South Africans using the Stokfella platform, Squad represents a bold new approach to ownership in the fashion industry—where customers are also co-owners, contributors, and creators. With products proudly made in South Africa, Squad is more than a brand; it’s a movement proving that the youth can build businesses that reflect their culture, create jobs, and shape their own economic future.
