As an entrepreneur or anyone working in an environment such as corporate, there’s a vital skill you need to learn if you want to catapult your growth.

It is the ability to sell, but not selling products or services per se. It is the ability to sell people on an idea, a vision or even a project.

The past few weeks I myself had to sell people on something, namely the Radio Interview I had with Bonolo Beesting on Kaya 959 FM.

So how did I go about it? First I had to be structured in my approach. You can not get people to support you if there is no plan, and all plans need firm foundations and the correct structure.

So this was my plan on marketing the radio interview on Kaya 959 FM about the #ZeroToMillion campaign.

My team and I brainstormed and decided a multi-channel approach was necessary to get the most support from people around me. This meant that we would target my Instagram followers, everyone on my email list and all followers on my Facebook and Tiktok accounts.

This multi-channel strategy had worked before as that is one of the reasons I landed this radio interview.

After more thought we realised that followers on these channels love visuals, that is how they interpret and process information. So my team and I decided to create a few Digital Assets for my audience to see across these platforms.

Having an interview like this is a great opportunity to create some credibility for yourself as well as a pipeline for content ideas. The content you put out can then be used to attract similar opportunities where like-minded individuals can engage and support your journey of starting a business.

These assets were designed in Canva(a free tool) and then distributed on the different platforms. This is how a single opportunity can be a way for you to push out content.

Once people hear of your business idea, they will reach out with a few questions and others messages of support.

The few who understand your business idea at a deeper level may even be willing to offer you resources or knowledge of the industry you want to venture into.

This is how a single opportunity has been turned into a content pipeline and a networking opportunity, the questions and interest that come from the content can even be used as a research opportunity

The turn out for the radio interview was successful as we had plenty of people tune in and I even got a few questions about the interview.

Stepping away a bit from the radio interview and we can see how I got people to support the vision. The buy-in from my followers and everyone on my email list was key, as an entrepreneur it is vital you get people to support your business idea.

From today onwards remember, every action you take, whether as an entrepreneur, as management or as an employee, involves you selling people on ideas, your shared vision and their emotional investment.
